Tinder’s new campaign features first texts of real couples

The online dating platform reimagines classic rom-com meet cutes

Tinder has released a new chapter of its award-winning global campaign ‘It starts with a swipe’, featuring the first messages of real couples who met on the online dating platform.

In a series of short video ads, Tinder reimagines classic rom-com scenarios by showing the ‘meet cutes’ of singles and incorporating dialogue inspired by real couples’ first chats.

Stephanie Danzi, SVP of Marketing at Tinder, commented:

Daters today are nostalgic for the meet-cutes they’ve seen in old rom-coms. But the reality is that the rom-com meet-cute is the exception, not the rule. Tinder is where modern-day meet-cutes happen — just ask the millions of couples who have met on Tinder.

Danzi goes on to say that ‘a new relationship starts every three seconds, thanks to Tinder’. As such, the new campaign celebrates ‘those millions of relationships’.

The short-form ads feature popular talent such as Lana Condor (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) and Evan Mock (Gossip Girl), who are known for their roles portraying the dating experiences of today’s singles.

The new video spots will run globally across digital and streaming platforms.
