Germany’s Jung von Matt opens its doors in London

The team is led by Managing Director Rob Conibear

International creative agency Jung von Matt is expanding with the launch of a London office and a UK team.

Jung von Matt London will open its doors with founding client Vauxhall/Opel, for which it has created a campaign for the Corsa, set to launch later this month.

Led by Managing Director Rob Conibear together with Executive Creative Directors Charlie Hurst and Marcos Gemal, the independent agency will be based out of an office in Shoreditch set to open in November.

Conibear is a former Group Brand Director at 72andSunny Amsterdam and Business Director at M&C Saatchi, while Hurst joins from Lucky Generals, where he was Creative Director and spent almost a decade.

Brazilian-born Gemal has had experience at top agencies across three continents, most recently at Wieden+Kennedy and Mother in London.

Jung von Matt is still 100% independent and you can feel that in the culture. There is a freedom to explore new ways to get to great work. We’re excited to be adding a London point of view to that. We are looking for brands that are at a pivot point and genuinely want to change.

Jung von Matt Chief Creative Officers Daniel Schaefer and Szymon Rose said expanding into London is the ‘logical next step for us as an agency.’

‘It’s such a hotbed for creative thinking and a second-to-none talent pool that it’s kind of unbelievable that we haven’t done this before,’ they said.

Founded in 1991 in Hamburg, Jung von Matt has 34 offices in 10 countries and is behind the award-winning work for MINI, adidas, BMW, Zalando, Bosch and Hyundai.
