Havas acquires majority stake in Uncommon Creative Studio

Uncommon to open US offices as result of the deal

French agency network Havas has announced that it acquired a majority stake of 51% in the London-based agency Uncommon Creative Studio, with agency founders Natalie Graeme, Lucy Jameson and Nils Leonard retaining the 49% material stake. The all-cash deal puts the valuation of the agency over £100m.

The acquisition brings Uncommon within the Havas Creative network and strengthens Havas’ presence in the UK market. The agency will operate independently of Havas and will use the investment to open a New York office to grow in the US market.

Founded in 2017, Uncommon quickly became one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK, working with clients including Google, Pinterest, Nike and ITV. The agency won its first Grand Prix at Cannes Lions this year, with its A British Original campaign for British Airways, in which the agency created 512 unique print, digital and outdoor executions that highlighted all the various reasons for travel.
