The News Movement has partnered with the digital out-of-home network Next-Gen Media to bring students credible news and tackle misinformation. Thanks to Next-Gen Media’s college and university accommodation network, students will be able to view the latest news updates across campus during the first academic term.
The content will offer snapshots of information, featuring a QR code that viewers can scan if they wish to learn more. In this way, The News Movement and Next-Gen Media hope to encourage discussions around current topics and mitigate the risks surrounding fake news online.
Lotte Jones, Chief Commercial Officer at The News Movement, commented: ‘Gen Zers’ trust in big organisations, both media and government, is fading, and it’s too easy for misinformation to spread online — the recent riots are a poignant reminder of this. That’s why taking news to the platforms and places where young people spend their time is crucial. We’re proud to work with Next-Gen Media to bring news content to millions of university students this autumn and help make trustworthy news a prominent part of the student experience.’
This partnership is the first of its kind for The News Movement and will transform its future campaigns, allowing clients to engage with Gen Z across digital and social channels.
