Manuel Albuquerque

CEO & co-founder of Primetag

Manuel Albuquerque is an entrepreneur, author, and investor in the martech space. As the Founder and CEO of Primetag, a high-growth startup in influencer marketing intelligence, Manuel has led the company to achieve over 100% year-over-year growth. In 2023 alone, Primetag oversaw more than 4,000 campaigns, representing a total influencer investment exceeding €115 million. To date, he has successfully raised €6 million in funding from Iberis and Indico Capital to fuel Primetag’s continued expansion. Originally from Figueira da Foz, a small fishing town in Portugal, Manuel was recognized as one of Portugal’s promising basketball stars, becoming the youngest player to turn professional only at just 15, following the same path as his father's athletic career. He played for both his hometown team and the Portuguese national team and was later invited to New York to play for the William Floyd High School, aiming to join a Division 1 NCAA team. However, at 17, a knee injury ended his basketball career - a turning point he likens to the abrupt end of a first startup. Returning to Portugal, he shifted focus and majored in Engineering at the University of Aveiro. After a brief stint as an engineer at Martifer SA, Manuel pursued his passion for entrepreneurship, launching his first technology business in 2014. An advocate for disruption and innovation, he also authored How to Apply Science to the Art of Influence, published in January 2023.
