Airband ad challenges stereotypes about country life

‘What do they know?’ highlights connectivity solutions

The rural broadband provider Airband launched its new TV ad campaign ‘What do they know?’ on 25 June, challenging stereotypes about life in the countryside. The campaign was created by London creative agency The Corner who worked with Andrew Rae for the ad’s illustrations.

The ad also features the voiceover of BAFTA award-winning comedy actor Charlie Cooper characterised as a duck addressing misconceptions associated with connectivity in the country. Some of these misconceptions include thinking that people in the country cannot shop online or watch television.

James Hyland, Head of Marketing at Airband, commented on the campaign:

For too long communities and businesses outside of major cities have had to put up with little to no broadband provision. Airband changes all of that, our funny and slightly tongue-in-cheek campaign shows that we understand that country life is very much like city life, just with a better view!

The campaign will run until October on ITVX, Sky AdSmart platform, radio, OOH, and online across Southwest England and Wales.
